Company Profile
ETGAR ltd. was founded in 1969as a family business in Karmiel, in the Northern
part of Israel. Since its inception, ETGAR has acted as a subcontractor for precision
machined parts, such as fuzes, shells, caps, and nuts made of 1144 iron, brass and
aluminum alloys, and power and audio connectors for the Israel defense industry.
In 1979 the first automatic multi-spindle lathe was inaugurated and the company
began to specialize in high-tech components for the automotive industry. As a Tier 2
subcontractor, the company supplied high precision pins, screws and stainless steel
fittings for various automobile assemblies.
ETGAR ltd. manufactures parts made of 303, 304 and 316 stainless steel. Products
include caps, nuts and couplings, military shells for connectors, fasteners and Let-Lok
nuts machined on automatic multi-spindle lathes. ETGAR long standing experience
and expertise are especially demonstrated in secondary operations carried out on
complex parts with CNC machines, including milling, broaching, punching, slotting,
drilling, taping etc.
In 1984 the first export deliveries of connectors to the USA opened a new era of
subcontracting activities. The company expanded its capabilities and know-how to the
manufacture of tube and pipe fittings and corrosion resistant nuts for the
semiconductor industry and other industries, which require high performance tube
fittings for flow, pressure and temperature control.
To-day exports account for more than 70% of ETGAR production and the number of
employees in the company has reached 80. A new line of stainless steel 316 Let-Lok
nuts has been set up for a major customer, the Israeli HAM-LET company.
In April 2008 a group of investors bought 70% of the company shares with view to
expand the company’s export business and exploit its know-how in additional areas of
metal working.
